A key focus of Dr. Pezo’s research is investigating novel therapeutics in early phase trials and developing methods for enhancing drug delivery to tumors to create a more personalized approach to cancer treatment. A specific area of interest is investigating mechanisms of resistance to immunotherapy to identify new targets for drug development and improve outcomes for patients. She has been actively involved in the design and implementation of clinical trials in both melanoma and breast cancer through the Canadian Cancer Trials Group and as a member of the Breast Immuno-oncology Task Force of the National Cancer Institute (USA) Breast Cancer Steering Committee.
