Dr. Christakis has moved into the research area of hemodynamic evaluation of patients following aortic valve surgery. He continues to publish papers on cardiac prosthesis mismatch, valve sizing and left ventricular mass regression. He will be doing a follow up study of all patients that now have the withdrawn valve called the Silzone valve. He will be evaluating all our previous aortic valve replacement patients to assess the influence of pressure gradients across the aortic valve for long-term survival symptomatology.
