At Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI), we are dedicated to advancing scientific discovery and translating it into real-world impact. As a leading research institute in Canada, we play a vital role within Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where our vision is to invent the future of healthcare. This mandate fuels everything we do, from pioneering novel therapies to commercializing technologies that improve patient outcomes. We are driven by a shared commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of patients, families, and communities.
SRI is uniquely positioned at the intersection of cutting-edge research and patient care. Our multidisciplinary teams work collaboratively to accelerate the journey from discovery to application, ensuring that groundbreaking research makes its way from the lab to the bedside efficiently and effectively. This collaborative approach is what sets SRI apart — we are not just creating new knowledge, but actively converting that knowledge into innovations that can change lives.
Our dedicated Technology Transfer Office (TTO) helps protect intellectual property, secure patents, and guide researchers in navigating the complexities of bringing new technologies to market. We provide comprehensive support to researchers and innovators, from protecting intellectual property and securing patents to managing licensing agreements and fostering industry collaborations. We also offer tailored support to start-ups, helping translate groundbreaking research into viable, market-ready products that address unmet medical needs. Through these efforts, we aim to drive innovation, commercialization, and real-world impact.
