On July 21, SRI Student Network (SSN) hosted the second annual Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI) Research Day, which showcased leading research from scientists, trainees and students across SRI’s biological, physical and evaluative clinical science platforms. From protection against Alzheimer’s disease to virtual reality for spine surgery education, the day showcased how Sunnybrook research is inventing the future of health care one innovation at a time.

Researchers, staff and learners had the chance to attend engaging keynote presentations from SRI scientists Dr. Linda Rabeneck, Dr. Andrew Lim, Dr. Nir Lipsman, Dr. Cari Whyne, Dr. Samira Mubareka and Dr. Stephen Ong Tone. Attendees also heard remarks from Dr. Kullervo Hynynen , Vice-President, Research and Innovation at Sunnybrook and Dr. Andy Smith, President and CEO of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

The day provided opportunities for students and trainees to present oral presentations to showcase their work, participate in a poster competition, and share their knowledge with other researchers and learners.
